Beginning Strings - "Music of the Heart Inspired by the movie, this program is for kids who want to play Violin, Viola, or Cello. for youth ages 5-7 with no prior experience playing the violin. Students will be introduced to the violin, how to hold the violin properly and to read music.

Youth Orchestra - For ages 8 – 18. As a level 1 group, the orchestra acts as an introduction class for young musicians, most of who have never played an instrument in a group before. As well as building sight reading and technical skills, the youth orchestra builds confidence, musicianship, and readies young musicians for further improvement and study on their instruments. This is a full Orchestra for all instruments including: Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, F Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, Drums, Percussion,

Chorus & Voice is divided into different groups and is offered to any child or youth who loves to sing, and wants to improve: Beginning Chorus for ages 4 - 6 and Jr. Chorus for ages 7- 11 . In addition to instruction in the mechanics of how the voice is used as an instrument, the chorus gives any child who loves to sing, the opportunity to discover a personal voice. It builds self confidence and social skills, while developing ear training and performance skills.

The Jazz Band Advanced Jazz Band is an opportunity to playing in a group and focuses on musical skills related to playing in a group, such as dynamics, rhythm concepts, jazz history, and theory. The Advanced Jazz Band is for very experienced musicians and will have a workshop with Sammy Nestico and then perform at the 2006 Temecula Valley International Jazz Festival.

Musical Theatre Workshop This class is for those who love musical theatre performance, and want to improve their combined acting and singing talents while working with others on “musical theatre cuttings”. A cutting is a shortened (@30 minute) version of a musical that highlights favorite numbers and scenes by combining them into a musical medley format. Guaranteed fun for all involved, this auditioned group will also perform for various community events.

Performance, Songwriting & Vocal Enhancement

Develop an intense “American Idol” style performance. Class participation will include: Songwriting, Vocal Instruction & Performance Enhancement techniques! Guest Appearances by Entertainment Industry Producers & Writers! Fun for all ages!

 

Included in our Summer Camp programs are two very important components

Artists in Residence Program. Members of our Professional Artists in Residence will also be on hand in a Master Class settings, as well as Clinics and Workshops. This gives the opportunity for the students to learn from professionals who have various backgrounds in music, and experience in the music industry. Our professional Artists in Residence play an intricate part in these programs, improving musicianship and technical skills.

Drum circles are directed by professional percussionists and focus on rhythm and playing music together as a group. While students are still learning their instruments, this program allows them to play rhythmically with others.
