Souljazz of Fortune

Souljazz of Fortune is an exciting band with proven veteran musicians. The band was established by Alex Gonzalez and BenJamin Menancio in 2008. Although the band was established just recently the core members of the group have played together since 2002. Based in Temecula / Murrieta in beautiful Southern California, members are Alex Gonzalez on drums and vocals, BenJamin on saxophones and vocals, Johnny Lopez on guitars, Rich Hale on keyboards, Nelson Guzman on percussions, and Vincent Cabrera on bass guitar. The bands motto is “Music and Friendship is essential to the Soul”. The Souljazz of Fortune sound is a hybrid of Soul, Jazz, R&B, Latin, Dance, Rock and last but not least…..Funk.

The band for years played in various venues from jazz festivals to private parties playing all genres and styles. Eager to record their own original materials, with a burning desire to compete in the music industry, and mainly driven to succeed. The band began recording there own originals that reflected there style and personality.

The bands debut CD album features uplifting feel good grooves, mixing the music with positive vocal love messages, catchy melodic instrumental lines supported by smooth, jazzy, funky horn lines. They reflected back to their roots growing up influenced by the sounds of their times, their lives surrounded by music that has influenced their style and creativity. Their current recording project reflects just that, their philosophy through their music. The album titled “Soulset” was produced by Alex Gonzalez and BenJamin Menancio of
