Jazz in Blue Jazz
Aug 21st, Aug 28th, Sept 4th
The Blue Jay Jazz Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the cultural enrichment of residents and visitors to the San Bernardino mountain communities. Our objective is to encourage the performance, promotion and preservation of jazz music recognized by the U.S. Congress in 1987 as a “National Treasure”. We provide family friendly affordable music events and educational clinics to mountain students and adults.
We expect particularly good attendance this year, due to the influx of visitors for our first year hosting the “Kids Camp” for “American Idol” nearby.
Although the foundation was officially incorporated in 2006, we have been bringing Jazz to the Blue Jay for fifteen years. To keep BJJF events affordable officers, members and volunteers engage in a year round comprehensive fund raising campaign to include a fan-based membership drive. Admission to our concerts is $15.00. We provide discounts to students, children under 16 admitted free with an adult.
Join us for the big band sound of Carl Saunders Aug 21st, Scott Martin's Latin Soul-Jazz on Aug 28th and The King Brothers for Blues Sept 4th. Enjoy fresh air, a quaint mountain ambiance and top professional jazz entertainers under the stars. Come to Blue Jay a Lake Arrowhead Mountain Community.
