About Us

Jon Laskin - FOUNDER / EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Musicians Workshop has, over the last many years, evolved from a simple music education center,
to a “full on” contemporary Children's After School Performing Arts & Music Education Center for
Programs and Events in the Temecula Valley.


PROGRAMS
We currently offer over 17 different children's after school performing arts programs for ages 3
years to 19 years old including: Pre-School Music, Beginning Strings, Youth Orchestra, Beginning
Chorus, Advanced Chorus, Beginning and Advanced Musical Theater, Beginning Drama, Song Writing
Classes, Jr. Blues Band, the Blues Band Revue, Jazz Band, Vocal Jazz Harmony, Group Guitar, Piano
Classes, Art & Painting Classes as well as private instrument and voice lessons, and the walls of the
building are used as a continual Art Gallery for Local Artists shows and receptions.

PARTNERSHIPS
We have made many community Non-Profit partners, helping them with their events, including: United Way, The Art League of Temecula Valley, The Arts Council of Temecula Valley, The Boys & Girls Club, The Women's Club, Theater Foundation, The Winegrowers Association of Temecula, Dorland Mtn. Arts Colony, Fine Arts Network, Michelle’s Place, Rancho Damacitas, Rotary Club of Temecula, Safe Alternatives, Susan G. Komen, Temecula Valley Chamber, Temecula Valley People Helping People, Oak Grove, Temecula Valley Vintners Association, and many more!

EVENTS
We host weekly community stage performances every Tuesday in the Plaza of the Promenade in
Temecula, and every Thursday at the Bel Velliago Center 6pm -8pm every year from May to October.
Annual In-Home Concert Series, Annual Temecula Valley International Jazz Festival, Annual Gospel
Concert with Rodena Preston and the Gospel Music Workshop of America, Community Drum Circles,
Annual Chuck Niles Jazz Music Competition, Song Writing Competitions, Host of Entertertainment for the
Temecula vAlley Womens Club, as well as providing music for Hot Summer Nights, Blues Festival, Old
Town Christmas, as well as many other community outreach programs.

My wife Jane and I started Musicians Workshop - Non-Profit 501-(c)(3) Performing Arts Programs & Events corporation in 1998, and now offer over 17 after school and evening performing arts programs. Scholarship funds are offered to deserving and low & moderate income families. We are currently working to help build the Temecula Valley Cultural Arts & Music Center - Home to the Chuck Niles Memorial Jazz Library.

PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAMS

Voice, Music, Theater programs include: strings, orchestra, jazz and blues bands, voice, chorus, guitar, piano, songwriting, beginning drama, advanced and musical theater.

ART GALLERY

Our building - which we lease from the City of Temecula for $1 a year, is used as a local Art Gallery.

CULTURAL PERFORMING ARTS EVENTS

We produce an annual Gospel Music Concert with Rodena Preston and the Gospel Music Workshop of America, as well as our In-Home Concert Series, and the Temecula Valley International Jazz Festival held July 7, 8, 9 in Old Town Temecula on the streets and in the new Community Theater, we also produce the weekly community performance stage in the Plaza of the
